RESURRECTION POWER

We often look at the brokenness of the world and the unfairness of our own lives, feeling like evil is winning or our careful plans are falling apart. When tragedy strikes or we face deep injustice, it is incredibly easy to feel trapped by our circumstances. We even wonder if God has somehow lost control or if our pain is just random, meaningless suffering that no one can fix. But Peter’s bold sermon in Acts confronts this fear head-on. He points directly to the cross, which was the most horrific and unjust event in human history. Yet, he boldly declares that Jesus was handed over according to the definite plan and foreknowledge of God. God is never caught off guard by human cruelty or unexpected tragedy. Even in our darkest, most confusing moments, his sovereign hands are actively weaving a beautiful redemption. And the story does not just end in a cold, dark tomb. God raised him up, loosing the pangs of death, because it was simply impossible for the grave to hold him. The tomb could not keep the author of life captive. This is the breathtaking hope we cling to when our own lives feel buried under heavy burdens. If death itself could not hold Jesus, then no earthly struggle, no deep fear, and no past failure can ultimately hold you. So when you feel completely trapped, stop staring at the size of your problem. Instead, look at the resurrected Savior who holds your future. Surrender your broken plans to his perfect foreknowledge and rest in his unshakeable promises. Take a breath, release your tight grip on the outcome, and walk forward in the freedom of his resurrection power.
